Hopefully someone at Apple will let us know if this is something they are
aware of and are working on. As I noted before, we plan on purchasing at
least one PowerBook G4 for the intension of live audio streaming.

It is a bug; we know about it and are working on a fix. It affects the built-in audio drivers on some Mac models when running Jaguar.
