Francesco,

The only other "modern" Mac I have access to with analog audio inputs
besides the first generation G4s is an iMac DV SE. It's a 400 MHz G3 with
512 MB of RAM but runs 10.2.1 pretty nicely. I ran QTB on this machine with
10.1.5 installed just fine and today tested QTB again for the first time
since installing 10.2.1 about 3 weeks ago. I'm able to select the analog
audio inputs without a flaw. The input choices I see are...

Built-in audio controller - Internal microphone
Built-in audio controller - External microphone/Line in
Built-in audio controller - Sound input

These are the same choices I see with my PowerMac G4 500 MHz DP desktop
computers. I don't have a PowerBook yet, so I can't test that.

Since others have confirmed the lack of ability to select the analog audio
inputs on their PowerBook G4s running OS 10.2.x, it definitely seems like a
bug. However, I've been able to get the G4 500 DP and the iMac 400 DV
working just fine so I don't have any thoughts on why it's not working with
your G4 500 DP. I doubt this has anything to do with it, but I do not have
any version of OS 9 installed on my G4 500 DP. Do you?

Hopefully someone at Apple will let us know if this is something they are
aware of and are working on. As I noted before, we plan on purchasing at
least one PowerBook G4 for the intension of live audio streaming.
