QT 6.4 Installer Problem

I downloaded iMovie 3.0.3 and launched it.  iMovie complained that I needed
QuickTime 6.3 (or persumably anything newer) so I went to Apple's QT site
and downloaded QT 6.4.

After copying the .DMG file to my target machine, I launched the Installer
which immediately told me that:
"This software cannot be used on your machine."

Where can I get QT 6.4 that IS usable on my machine?
