Please give QuickTime 6.5 a try, particularly if you
are having problems with text or chapter tracks
in Windows. Let us know if it solves your problems.
Well...
...one step forward, two steps back.
With 6.5 player & plug-in, in Win XP, chapter tracks work in both the
stand alone and browser-embedded Quicktime. Didn't before. Many thanks.
With 6.5 player & plug-in, in Win 98, those same chapter tracks are NOT
visible (they were before) in either the player or embedded Quicktime.
Disabling and re-enabling the track didn't help. (I haven't tried
re-creating them yet.)
Strangely enough, in Win 98 & 6.5, chapter tracks generated through SMIL
code: e.g.
<img src="2.jpg" region="slides" dur="10.5" qt:chapter="slide 2" />
are still visible & work.
(Sigh).
