Playlists can be used on the client and on the server, as is done with
the Microsoft lists and m3us.
No, "Apple is different" (tm), but I think you have something like that in
iMode, some sort of a database or your media.
There is a workaround with applescript at the url below, but it works only
with one url in a playlist, well, better than nothing, if you want to use
playlists for streaming.
