I found Steven Gulie's "QuickTime for the Web" to be useful when I was just
getting started with QuickTime. I used it to get oriented, get some
examples under my belt, learn the terminology.
Searching the quicktime-talk and quicktime-api archives has also been hugely
productive; I found when I was starting out that every question I had was
already asked and answered in the archives.
Don't be shy to post questions to the list, somebody on it has your answer.
If you expect to do any development, I found there's almost always an SDK
example that shows how to get started, then I check the list archives for
comments on the SDK example I picked. I typically use the Apple QT docs as
a reference when I've already figured out what I want to do, and just need
the details.
