Is there any way of getting mpeg-4 content to cross plattforms?
1. Viewing ISMA profile 0/1 MPEG-4 content on a Macintosh that was
coded/streamed on/from a Windows Plattform
2. Viewing ISMA profile 0/1 MPEG-4 content on a WinTel PC that was
coded/streamed on/from a MacOSX Plattform
I see that Microsoft uses the MMS protocol to transport an .asf stream
containing mpeg-4 content in its Windows Media Encoder, and Apple is
using rtsp (or http) to transport an .spd file containing mpeg-4
content.
Is there any way to get these two worlds to work together? Am I missing
something here? The support for ISO-MPEG-4 have little relevance as
long as the transport protocol is proprietrary.
