A good place to post this kind of question is the quicktime-api list
(lists.apple.com).
The functions mentioned allow QuickTime wired sprites to read and set
Flash variables.
A flash button can be pressed using the mouse when a flash movie is
running as
a flash track in a QuickTime movie--it retains its native
interactivity. Of course, if the
purpose of the Flash button is to set a variable, yes, this would
effectively "press the
button" for the user, but no, it doesn't press a Flash interactive
button; it just sets a
variable to a specified value.
Hope this helps,
-Steve
