iChat AV iSight color range

I have two iSights on a Fedex van somewhere nearby. It's ironic that in the time since I ordered them, the SoHo store has had a ton of stock in. I think from now on I won't order online (same thing happened with my iPod, where the online store sat on my order for a few days before shipping), but will just walk a few blocks and buy it in the store. I'll save shipping that way too, as well as get the thing sooner. But I digress...

In the Apple Store yesterday they were running iChat AV between two iMacs. There's a dramatic loss in color between the local view and what the other end sees. Is that how it is, or is there a way to throw more bandwidth at it to get some color range?

I guess I'll know for myself later today!
