Re: mpegable broadcaster lack of audio in QT client

Dont know if your problem is similar, but IMHO mpegable products are full
of surprises, at least with my hardware. The WMP plugin is ok, if the
icons for mp4s wouldnt be so ugly. The player is even worse than QT, as
far as firewalls and "automatic configuration" or whatever is inside is
concerned, not even an error message, just nothing, in a situation where
Ciscos mp4player needs the "rtsp over tcp" switch and Real One just plays
fine. Their player is slow and needs the newest video card, QT plays fine.
And the broadcaster didnt find my PCTV framegrabber card, which is one of
the most popular tvcards in the world. All on Win 98 SE.

QT plays fine with Ciscos mp4live, I would say this is a reference.
There was a time when the envivio plugin had problems with other vendors
mp4s, it was to picky with "wrong headers", well, not a real answer but
a suggestion: if you want PeeCees, get Redhat 9 and the mpeg4ip package,
compiles nicely (after 10or so times "make"..) and performes great!
Did you ever test it? Dont say "Linux is to complicated for me"...

Best, H.
