No problems here using Safari 1.0.

To circumvent the browser as a variable, use the QT Player: File > Open URL in a New Player, then paste in the following URL (taken from the web page cited above):

http://a772.g.akamai.net/5/772/51/ae81f9858d8f1b/1a1a1aaa2198c627970773d80669d84574a8d80d3cb12453c02589f25382f668c9329e0375e8177be457c52aa3d23cb11f86f257b61887f661c0f2/jungle_book_2_320.mov

Look out for word wrap breaking the URL (some re-assembly may be required).

No problems using only the QT Player either.
