Hi all,
does anyone know if QT 6 supports the use of Flash xml-sockets?
The 'whats_new_in_QT6' document says (page 50)
"The new Flash media handler supports Macromedia Flash files [..] that
conform to Flash 5 versions.
The most significant additions [of QT6] include
- greatly expanded ActionScript capabilities
- HTML text rendering
- XML data exchange
All these features work properly under the new Flash media
handlerwith a few limitations."
The only specified limitation in the rest of the section is about
mouse-click handling, so I would think that QT 6 supports the use of
xml-sockets in a flash-track (containg a version 5 swf).
And so now there we implemented a flash chat (version 5 swf) that uses
xml-sockets, and it isn't working (the xml-socket part, that is) if
played from within QT 6. We are just beginning to investigate the
problem, but perhaps someone can confirm flash xml-socket support in QT
6 beforehand? Would be kind of stupid for us to try to fix the problem
if it isn't supported at all.
[note: the <moviecontainingaflashtrack>.mov is on the same server as
the socket server it is trying to connect to on port 5222]
tnx
