Re: 24 fps to 12 fps ?

I'll try to make this short and clear!
I'm using a Flat panel iMac (OS X - QT Pro 6)) to make the movies but I want them to play on a older imac. 333Mhz (256 mo)
Width and height: 640 X 480 (100%) Not full screen

When you say 600 ko/s you mean KiloBytes per second or kilobits per second?? (Francesso)

As for the "ko per seconds". My system is french so I don't know which one they mean. I assume that it means KiloBytes which would be more logical.

The data rate for Sorenson on slower computers ought to be below 200 kilobytes per second. If it's a lot higher it will be too processor intensive. ( Colin)

I will try this out.

Basically this is what I do:
Open image sequence (24 images or more, up to 7 seconds) 24 fps
I then export to movie:
At the moment I use "Animation" (the one completely at the top) as a compressor. I tried Sorensen but it is far to slow for editing. I can't move the "location indicator" without having to wait a lifetime for it to move.
when I choose "Animation" I can edit instantly. The only problem is they make huge files.

I open a new window and copy and paste all my small movies in one unique movie. I then export (again) using Sorensen.
Not very orthodox, I can imagine all of you thinking: How complicated! ;-)

Finely, would I be better off opening every scene with the: Open image sequence and simply copy and paste from there before exporting to movie?
I also have sound with the movies but they are simply copied and added. They are compressed.

Maybe I should get Ben's compression book!
