There are not that many tools out there for the Mac. MS has not released APIs for their newer codecs on the Mac, but discreet's cleaner 5 and newer can encode to WMV-7 which should be relatively backwards compatible.


MS's tools to encode to WiMP don't accept QT movies as sources (as you might expect) so that will be a major problem. Since cleaner can open almost any QT file, you can then compress to WiMP.

Also Sorenson Squeeze 3 on Windows has support to encode to WiMP. Squeeze also accepts QT movies as sources.
