Text movies, unicode, sjis, windows and mac

I can create a unicode (big-endian) qtText file and import it as a text movie with no problem on the Mac side. Shouldn't I be able to do this same unicode import on the Windows side?

The QT Player application appears to be non-unicode under Windows.

On Windows (XP), the workaround is very ugly, requiring a transformation into some unspecified (you have to guess which one) local character encoding (for example, for Japanese SJIS seems to work), and then select (for example) Japanese as the default **non-unicode** application language (on the Regional and Language Options control panel), and then reboot the machine. This means I can't create multiple text tracks in multiple languages on the Windows side.

Thanks.
