Re: Flash Track JPEG color problem

Hi Andrew.
I openned up your .mov file in Flash MX.
I selected the bitmap in the Library and went into it's properties.
Changing the compression setting to "Lossless (PNG/GIF)" fixed it for QuickTime playback.

I do agree that there's something buggy about QuickTime not displaying it the same as the Flash player.
But by using this workaround, maybe it will work for you.

Subject: Flash Track JPEG color problem

I have a Flash SWF that contains a JPEG image. It looks fine when played
in the Flash player. When I import the SWF into the Windows QuickTime
6.1 or 6.5 player, or the MacOS X 10.1 player (display set to millions
of colors), the JPEG quality degrades - it appears to be dithered to
fewer colors.

You can see what I mean on this page. This is exactly the same SWF,
playing in the Flash player and imported into a MOV and playing in
QuickTime:

Setting "High Quality Enabled" on the Flash track does not seem to help,
nor does changing the "Graphics Mode" (e.g. to "copy" instead of "dither
copy").

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Andrew
