Certain cameras allow you to create an associated .jpeg file simultaneously.
 Maybe that's what's occurring...

I'm not sure that choosing RAW "over" .jpeg is necessarily the right way to
look at it.   RAW is designed to be an acquisition and archiving, not viewing,
formatb the digital equivalent of a camera negative.   For this reason, I'd
have to guess that support and capture of RAW files will be left to dedicated
photo editing apps.   Atleast until most of us get caught up to speed on the
processing of digital images.

Makes for decent conversation though...
