QuickTime's SMIL implementation is vital to our library's ability to deliver dynamic XML content generated from a database, and use JSP to display the returned results to the end user. Maintaining QuickTime's current SMIL capability is essential for us--enhancing its capability would be even better.

Does anyone on this listen know what Apple's future plans are
regarding support for SMIL in quicktime or is the current
implementation as far as it's going to go?
