Folks,

There were some reports about strange color space issues when working with QT7. I'm doing a big MPEG-2 for DVD encoding shootout. I'm working with high quality Motion JPEG source files. They're working fine when encoded on Windows with QT 6.5. But when working with QT7 on Mac, the output seems quite a bit darker than it should be.

Anyone figure out what's going on with this, or a workaround?

I only got two responses from several postings of that issue on several mailing lists, which was very surprising - though I related it only to the H.264 encoder and did not see any inconsistencies with the other codecs. It'd be great if you can take a look at the samples and information I provided. In the case of H.264, it seems distinctly a gamma encoding issue.
