If I open a QT movie that has interlaced video, and then export 1
frame to an uncompressed
.pict - is this .pict an interlaced picture?
Nope...
If I export it as a .pict with Photo JPEG compressed @ 90% - is it an
interlaced .pict?
Nope, and I would avoid using PICT with JPEG compression, as if you
import into another app it'll be decompressed and then, likely,
re-compressed. Since I know you're doing DVD authoring I'd recommend
against it. In fact, I'd tend to avoid PICT in general these days; it's
just not widely used since the demise of the classic Mac OS.
I've tried looking around for answers, but found nothing conclusive.
Could someone state for sure if it is, or is not?
Also, could anyone tell me how to get the best - or highest resolution
picture (not interlaced)
from a QT movie - or a codec (or way) to get the fields combined to
achive the best looking picture?
I'll leave that to someone else... I don't deal with interlacing issues
enough.
