Re: SOT: Where to get answers TV vs Computer Video

Dick,
Actually, you can do 720P HDTV with the Mac mini now, I imagine 1080i will be possible before too long

Subject: SOT: Where to get answers TV vs Computer Video
To: QT-Users QuickTime <email@hidden>

I am starting to get interested in delivery of HDTV from various
sources (DVD, Web, wireless network, Cable, Satellite, etc) to several
destinations (computer HDD, DVD, HDTV, Flat-panel Computer display.

I recently bought a Mac mini to play around with this, and more
recently a TiVo and a Westinghouse 17" LCD TV as both a TV and Computer
Display.
I know this isn't a HDTV solution-- but I want to get familiar with
what's available, now, with an eye to making a knowledgeable purchase
in the next few years.
I find the melding of computers and TV leaves a lot to be desired,
promarily:
1) Missing functions
2) Overlaping functions
3) Lack of a single control for the computer, TV, and TiVo.
I have a lot to learn and a lot of questions--
Does anyone know of a forum or list where the convergence of TV and
computers is discussed by experts and begginners?

TIA

Dick
