In your case, yes, it saved your day.
but seeing as you're going to lose perhaps 40 lines of the image on a
regular TV, why worry about losing six during the compression stage?

Incidentally, is your caps lock key giving you problems? It seems to
come on and off intermittently during your e-mails.
