I believe this is referring to the use of the Sony HDCAM SR format
which uses MPEG-4
Studio Profile as its internal compression format for 4:4:4 RGB 10bpc
recording. Studio Profile is an intra-frame system that uses a hybrid
lossy DCT / lossless
'DPCM' process for high-resolution image aquisition and
production. I'm not sure if it is very much related to QT/MPEG-4.
Maybe Apple will support
it at some point for their pro-apps.
