I am an aritst who is upgrading an old installation for a new
exhibition. Basically, I have betaSP masters that I need to play from
a computer as random user-accessable clips.
My fist question is: Does anyone have experience using the SheerVideo
BitJazz codec? (http://www.bitjazz.com/sheervideo/) It looks like it
is really great for real-time applications in that it is a good quality
and very CPU inexpensive in decoding. Any comments?
And the second question:
If I plan to use the SheerVideo codec for final display, what
compression should I consider as the intermediary? Of course is it OK
to use something like photo-Jpeg at 100% to avoid any loss. I'm
looking for a decent balance of image quality vs filesize. The total
time of all the clips is roughly 20mins.
