Sorry my english is not enough to make it clear. In fact I found that
KIND in dictionary is r/o but I haven't found a way to use AppleScript
to make changes like shown in here:
Note that what I call "track name" was changed from "Sound Track 1" to
"portugues" using QTP's properties window. This is what I need.
Applescript let me change the TRACK NAME and cause a change in
annotation "name " of the track - note "Sound Track 2" with annotation
name "espanhol". What I don't need.
As a newbie, I could not found (yet) a property in QT dictionary to
solve this. I'll keep looking.
I'm aware of the difference NAME / KIND and that KIND is r/o as well.
It is weird that using the app QTPlayer I can change the kind but not
using applescript.
The solution suggested sets the NAME in ANNOTATION, while what I need
is specifically change the kind in order to make a bunch of movies
compatible with an master movie that already exists and makes
decisions based on the KIND of each track.
How on earth can you change the KIND of a track in QT Player manually?
A Video track is always a Video track, and I can't see how you could
change that to ANY other track Kind, like Audio - and if you could, it
would involve more than just changing a flag like this. I think
there's a misunderstanding here somewhere... Kind is a read only
property for a good reason - you can't change it! You must be changing
something else - what is it? Maybe a screen shot would help?
You sure you're not trying to change the Language or another property?
I can't imagine any circumstance a track would be of kind/type
"Portuguese" - kind represents the abstract media type, like Audio,
Text, Image, Video, etc...
