After installing QT 7 on my mac and i go to a website where i used to

I can see the video with no problem on version 6 also from a pc.

Which sites? Got any urls?

Go to www.klauslysgaard.dk Click on "surfoffice"

Hmm, I got to the part where a popup menu appears, and I extracted the URL from the HTML source:
<http://www.klauslysgaard.dk/surfoffice/file_handler.php? id=19&type=project&quality=>

The embed rectangle shows a "Q" logo with a question mark in it, just like you mentioned. When I try to open the URL directly in QuickTime Player, there's an error message saying there are problems with the URL.

Finally, when I try to download the link directly (by using Curl or pasting the URL in a web page of my own creation), the URL gets translated into "file_handler.qt" and downloads with no problems. The movie also plays back fine.

The .qt file extension is curious, though. Why not just use .mov? Does QuickTime 7 perhaps treat the .qt extension differently? Anybody on the list have any ideas?
