You could simply make the .aiff into a .mov and add your image. Or use what is known as a "poster movie" inside your html code. Both are very easy to do.
If you want the file to "wait" until a viewer "clicks" (click the picture of the dog and hear it go "woof") the poster movie code would work best.
You'll find examples of the code all over the Web. Most movie "trailer" sites (like Apple's) use a poster movie as a placeholder.
