Re: best converter?

Thanks for the tips. The reason for wanting over Firewire is so that any machine, including PowerBooks, can be used for the capturing. The Miranda seem a higher price, it's about the same as the higher end Aja product, and yet doesn't do SDI. Curiously, the two lower Aja products added together are a similar price to the Miranda and the higher end Aja. I wonder if there's an advantage or disadvantage to getting the two Aja units? Having the two could mean having an SDI capture station for Beta SP work, and the other unit for capturing off a non-Firewire DV/DVCAM deck.

Another idea is to use the SP deck via SDI, and send another device through it as component. Might get by with just the $900 SDI Aja box.
