I had several troubles with a Sony DSC-P10: the film played fine in
QuickTime but didn't allow copy-and-paste, I had tried may different
re-encoding and the best I could get had a bad echo on the sound...
We were overall not happy with it, being convinced by a nikon camera,
so... we just sold it.
stevesdigicam.com (or so) has sample pictures including sample videos.

Hello Frank,
My son (student at art college) has a Canon A95 which takes cracking
still pictures.
It also takes video with an .avi extension; QT reports it as "Motion
JPEG OpenDML" at 320 x 240 and plays it fine.
The quality seems reasonable, my only comment being what video he has
taken so far is at 15fps (but maybe there is an adjustment
somewhere!). The audio seems remarkably good for what must be a tiny
built-in microphone which is encoded as mono @ 11.024kHz.
