What are you asking for? How does what you want differ from the check
box "Deinterlace" under "Visual Settings" in QT Pro 7?

No conclusions yet, except that QuickTime Player Pro would really benefit from a simple de-interlace filter for encoding greater than 320x240 frame size.

I already mentioned in my web site that setting those boxes before compressing made no difference in the final file, which was still interlaced. I might be wrong, but that's the way it seems. And you can't deinterlace after you resize to a smaller frame size.

With the success of iTunes and iPod, and adding video to the mix, lots of people are going to, or will want to, create QT and MPEG4 movies with the H.264 codec, and there are no affordable easy solutions besides QT Player Pro. Here again, maybe I missed something on the Mac. Sorenson Squeeze is $449, and Compression Master $495. These are probably great professional tools, and we will be buying them, but the average Joe and Jane won't.

QT Pro is fine up to 320x240, but then there are severe interlace artifacts in motion areas. There are already filters in QT Player Pro, it would not be that hard to add a deinterlace one. I'd make it more visible than the other filters. There's a few nice empty spots in the MPEG4 and Video export settings. It would fit in nicely.

Just my $.02
