Re: QT Sorenson Video 3 To DV

Exactly what happens when a 52 MB 480x360 QT Sorenson Video 3
transcodes to DV?
 (other than the file size going from 52MB to 2 GB, 720X480)


It went to 2 GB because it was about ten minutes long, not because it
was a 52 MB Sorenson 3 movie. 

What I wanted to know was - does QT simply extrapolate (or is it fill in the blanks)  rather than decompressing - when a video is transcoded from Sorenson back to DV? And is there a loss (and what %) going  from Sorenson back to DV? I am working on a TV pilot and wondered what is being lost - and if it's worth  bugging folks to locate the original DV tape.
