That's typically a driver issue in my experience, where the Y'CbCr
range
of 16-235 isn't properly expanded to the RGB range of 0-255.

I find the same thing for video played in the Windows QT Player. In a
web browser, it looks fine.

It plays fine, but the black level is washed out.
Looks fine on a Mac.
I just installed the latest version of QT for Windows XP SP2.
I thought that It would be darker because of the gamma shift from
Mac to PC.
