Anyone here "playing with" Movie To Apple Tv? Does it deinterlace pans or fast movement?

I've encoded a few Apple TV movies from DV sources, and noticed significant interlacing artifacts on my mac as well as on the Apple TV. Interestingly, my television did a better job de-interlacing than the Apple TV. That is, when I switched the Apple TV output from 720p to 1080i, the interlacing artifacts were less obvious.

Also, I converted one of the DV movies into a QuickTime movie w/ a DV video track, then exported that movie to Apple TV format. Instead of interlacing, I got chunky pixels as if an upscaling algorithm simply replicated pixels.

Honestly, I have not yet had time to dig into this issue, but I'm hoping to find a better recipe for creating Apple TV content from DV.
