Re: need help with Quicktime Broadcaster

hello Miguel Libedinsky,

a while ago i set up a darwinstreaming server and a broadcaster on my local
mac only network.

After i figured out the right settings, for video and audio decoding
<http://www.slidesnow.com/qtbroadcaster.shtml>
exporting the  .sdp files , put them on the webserver, embed the code into the website,
<http://www.soundscreen.com/streaming/embed_streams.html>  setup
the darwin streaming server...open all the ports <http://www.soundscreen.com/streaming/firewall.html>
and so on, i quickly figured  out that you really need a fast connection to host 10 or 20 users.

For a testing enviroment i would  recomment one machine for broadcaster and
another one for the darwin streaming server
but in a production enviroment you need to find a hosting isp  for your DSS , to reach a larger audience.

I am very interested in any information about quicktime broadcaster and DSS setup and experience
from other  users , is quicktime broadcaster and darwinstreaming server used in internet2 aswell ?

 if you want to try  "audio only"  i would recomend <http://www.rogueamoeba.com/nicecast/>

regards

marc
