I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;-)
Apple's policy is to not discuss unreleased products. So no Apple
engineer on this list will be able to talk about releases or dates.
I'll just state that in general, support for popular video cameras/
formats is important to Apple.
What would you say my options are? Try to return the camera?
Currently yes, that would be the only option, as you won't be able to
ingest them on the mac. Or you could keep it in hopes that we'll
support it in an upcoming product. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Is there a list of supported HD cameras somewhere?
Final Cut has an official supported list as does iMovie. Final Cut
supports many very expensive high-end hd cameras. In the prosumer
and consumer space, both Final Cut and iMovie support HDV.
