I was kinda blindsided by this issue because I remember Steve Jobs and the Sony guy on stage when they announced the HD stuff at a keynote a couple back. I sorta assumed the latest Sony camcorders would just work with the Mac. And the HDR-HC3 works with the Mac, although it has Firewire and uses tape. Alas, the HDR-UX1 is a bit different animal.

I will get to know the camera a bit more and explore my options. Perhaps setting it to write in SD format will work for the interim until some 3rd party, or other support for the HD format shows up.
