Re: Sony HDR-UX1 to Mac connection?

So do I agree that AVCHD Quality is quite poor with many flat and "averaged" surfaces but I still would like to see something like the Panasonic AG-HSC1U quality via the HDMI and the Blackmagic Intensity into FCP before expressing any definitive judgment.

Alternatively to use The Convergent Design's Nano Connect to RT convert the HDMI AVCHD output to be ingested by any HD-SDI card available.

Not exactly for Terminal novices.

I totally agree with you there. I've only used Terminal once to correct an OS X issue - I just followed directions and it worked (have no idea how) - that time definitely falls into the beginners luck category. This one has many more steps - and I think I used all my luck up the first time :) but I'll keep fidling with it.

But in a way it is kind of beautiful to watch how the guy(s) who put together - did it. But as many Quicktime customers have said here - Apple needs to do it sooner rather later. But maybe because of Intel Macs - Apple won't bother because Sony's going to do it.

Hopefully Sony announces the Vegas AVCHD upgrade this week.
