Re: Quicktime and Interactivity

Subject: Re: Quicktime and Interactivity

In the meantime, I'll continue to happily and productively use LiveStage Pro and other QuickTime-based tools. The QuickTime Team has done a very good job of maintaining QuickTime's interactive capabilities through several full releases now and I would expect that to continue.

Frank, in my last message on this subject, I originally wrote:

"In all honesty, without Apple featuring, spotlighting, supporting and promoting QT's interactive features, I find it would be difficult for a small company to go it alone.
It does not seem interactivity is important to Apple's current QT product placement."

However, I thought about it, and then took "supporting" out, as the QT team seems to have done a good job, as you say, of maintaining these interactive capabilities.
Interactivity is a great feature of QT, but I would stand by the rest of my statement, without evidence to the contrary.
Thanks for keeping the flame alive!

At one time, as we recall, QT had more interactive features than Flash.
It would be a shame if these were lost, or not converted somehow to an open-standard MPEG4 architecture.
