slightly OT, HDR ADR and games

Hope this isn't too OT.

This is related to what Aldo was talking about with his Adaptive Dynamic
Range project.

This project is a real-time demo for using HDRI.
http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/index.html It has the automatic
exposure feature, but also has several other visual and camera effects
of HDR such as an Afterimage, Blooming, Halos, realistic motion Blur and
others. There is a subject in the foreground that is also lit in
real-time by the HDRI. You can only achieve this by doing real HDR
rendering using an HDR file format.

The HDRI in the demo is low res (for games they are more interested in
how well it lights a synthetic object in real-time) but you can still
clearly see these effects.

If you don't have the newest video cards (GeForce FX or ATI 9700) you
can see some stunning movie screen captures of it here,

Games will be reaching cinematic quality with effects like these.

I am eagerly awaiting the day when we can all display our interactive
panos with this kind of dynamic range and display effects on the web!
