Ok - I am sending the file as an attachment to an email using Entourage. It
was created in QTRVAS and is not zipped or anything else. It was suffixed
.pano and I have changed that to .mov but the problem still occurs. The
point is - I have previously sent it as a .pano file and there was no
problem in opening it or with duplicate files but after the upgrade to QT6.1
there is. I have also just been told that another recipient of a file sent
in the same way is getting the error report - file unsafe to open -. He is
also using a PC. I accept that this may be related to not using the suffix
.mov but do not know which version of Windows that he is using or if it is
different from my partners set up.

If you're willing to send the file (or, if it's confidential, some other pano), i can take a look at what's arriving... my guess is that it's not a flattened file and Entourage somehow splits off the resource fork into a separate attachment? Since i'm using Mozilla here, i'm not sure what Entourage does or does not, but i'm used to getting forwarded mails from Microsoft products (Outlook etc. *) that show "one or another slight defect" in their formatting (esp. at my workplace, a print shop where we're 50/50 Mac/PC...)
