... more on handheld overhead panos ... Parades, like depicted here in this pano of Anzac Day (like Remembrance Day) here yesterday www.mediavr.com/anzac.htm provide interesting opportunities for candid panoramic photography with overhead picture-taking With a parade one really needs to plan the sequence so there is free space in the street -- between the marching groups -- because by the time one gets back around to the start with ones shots -- a new group will be there. So thats what I did here -- start with a group on the right - looking at the street, with a gap ahead - then go around and wait till a new group arrives on the left, with a fresh gap ahead. In fact in this pano a couple of groups passed by before I managed to get the right sort of gap to finalize the sequence. I shot about 15 shots for this pano but only used 5 to stitch, choosing them after the event. Parades like this one, or horse race ones, like this one I did recently http://www.mediavr.com/rosehill.htm are engaging enough for the crowd to be pretty much involved, but still there will often be a few in the crowd eyeing the camera. This race one I again used only a few shots for the main stitching but I copied and pasted facial expressions from lots of shots to get good candid looking faces. I am thinking I will try using a 3d program to map faces where folk are looking at the camera onto generic 3d heads so I can tilt them so they appear to be not looking straight on. these kind of panos would be much simpler with full circle fisheye coverage instead of 180 by 125 degrees with the D1/8mm Peter Murphy www.mediavr.com/blog _______________________________________________ quicktime-vr mailing list | email@hidden Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/quicktime-vr Do not post admin requests to the list.
