Comments...Analysis...and Legal Opinions Welcomed

All i can offer so far is "Comments"... i'm inclined to buy a license once a Mac OS X version of this product is available. I've tried the PC v0.4. It's able to combine two fisheyes, with auto-cropping abilities. Precise alignment while shooting is a necessity. The presentation of the stitching process is unique, but makes *a lot of* sense.

Things i've noticed:

- seems to bring back some legal safety into the usage of 130 years old camera technology...

- uses PTviewer for java playback

- does not intend to sue Prof. Dersch ;-)

- creates cubic QTVRs, too.

- 499 $ is expensive, but i've paid about the same for QTVR Authoring studio years ago, so what...

- Pay fee only once. I *like* this business model. (may change once v1.0 is reached, according to website...)

- enterprise licensing is necessary if you *publish* more than 500 panos *per month* - now that's a limitation i can easily live with...

- My sigma 8mm isn't up to the task. visible seam. Works better with lenses above 180 degrees FOV.

- I'd like to see support for "more than 2" shot panos. Like free interactive placement of the shot inside a virtual workspace... (could be there's another patent for this one? :-S

- ability to add a licensing information to JPEG files (annotations, not inside the picture), proving that it's produced with "legally fish-eyed software".

- doesn't care where the pictures come from, works with "conventional" 360x180 planar images, too.

- causes the same feeling i get whenever i read some software/hardware license agreement: "You agree to indemnify..." - why is it that it's always *me* that's supposed to compensate the company if *they* screw up something with the law? Or maybe the legal english is just waaay over my head...
