Best Java player for 360x180 panoramas

Last time I looked, the PTviewer Java player was not able to play cubic QuickTime
files. However, it can play back an equirectangular image that covers 360x180,
right? Is PTviewer the best Java playback engine for spherical panoramas?
(by best, I mean smoothest playback, and works reliably)

oh yeah -- check out VRlog.com for my idea for a "laserpod" to simplify
tripod-less pano-shooting.
