I was just headed out when I received your message.
The only helper application you need to point to in PTMac for OS X is
MakeCubic and this is optional as PTMac can make cubes directly.
Stitching is now done internally as there is no PTStitcher for OS X.
The error you are receiving is most likely due to running PTMac from a
non-administrator account. PTMac writes some temporary files to a
folder within a folder having administrator rights and the rights are
inherited. See the "Using PTMac on a non-administrator account" on
which folders you need to change permissions. It's easy, locate the
folder, do a command + i, and change the permissions. Here is a link
to the FAQ and detailed instructions:

I would ask the maker, but he's away for a couple of weeks. So thanks
for indulging me.
I feel like my copy is buggy: in Preferences: is there supposed to be
a way to browse/locate each of the helper apps needed by PTMac? I am
only able to browse/locate for make cubic application.
I wouldn't mind, except the app crashes whenever I try to do a
preview. "Can't create TIFF file.."
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Michael
