Pique could be "sharpness" or "detail"? not sure...
anyway...when i have tried to use the Nikon software it seemed really
slow and I didn't like the interface so I figured it was a waste of
time to learn another piece of software..
peace,

I like the pano as it is alive, a hotwire sprite for a pair of drumming
hands and a soundtrack and i'm there ! (+ the tarte Tatin looks yummy)
But one question regarding photoshop CS , ive been playing with it
lately at
boosting shadows (although not @3200ISO) and my conclusions so far is
that
it is no match with what Nikon capture 4 can do with its DEE filter
(Dynamic
Exposure Extender) the only gain in CS is speed of process (which is an
issue in NC4). NC4 really preserves shadows and highlights if the
information is there.
Also I found CS could not match NC4 at opening NEF files when it came
to
"piqui" with my Nikkor10.5 even when tweaking the default settings.
The plus
points of CS are speed and color fringing corrections in real time for
sure
but these are useless when depth of contrast is killed in imported
image.
Has anybody else compared quality in both ?

ps: I couldn't find an equivalent for "piqui" in English, but
musicwise I
would say "staccato!" if that can help understand.

The ISO was Hi-1 on d100 which is 3200 equivalent. I wanted the
fastest
shutter speed possible and it was VERY dark.
For shadow enhancement I have been using Photoshop CS's
shadow/highlight adjustment. It works like a dream!.
I adjusted more ...4% shadow adjustment and here is the result

I like the original version better...
This pano is mostly concerned with content. i didn't even think I'd be
able to stitch tis one as it was handheld and I was pretty 'gone' by
this point! ;-}
I also have a new method for HDR multishot composites...
It works excellent and I can go into it if anyone is interested.
