Re: How to create high resolution/quality fullscreen qt panos?

From an older post by Toni Garbasso:

Here an example of a high resolution qtvr made with Sigma 12/24:
2 raws (30 deg,-30 deg tilt) of 8shots, zenith, nadir; realviz stitcher 4,
method 2, spherical output in PSD, 10000 pix width, sorenson3 38%, 1,2 mb

And from the PanoTools list by Hannes Hensel:
10D, 12mm - high
http://www.pano-store.de/examples/baderaum_Sigma12-24_1000.mov (ca.2MB)

When I finally save up the pennies for a dSLR this is the lens I am looking at as it also makes a very good wide zoom.

Hi Stephen
The 12-24 mm Nikkor or Sigma 12-24 will give you a cube in 18 shots.
2 rows of 8 gives you 140 degree with 30% overlapping + 1 top and bottom
shot. I am working on a multirow panohead to test it.

It gives you a 11.500 pixels wide pano. Cylindric pano with 8 shots and 84
degree FOV. My first tests with the Sigma 12-24 look very good.

Hans

I was curious about the 12-24mm Sigma sharpness. How does its sharpness compare to 15mm fisheye Sigma? Or even the 15-30mm Sigma?

I heard some people say it was not sharp, then others say it is very sharp. I don't know what to believe.
