Re: Won't open QTVR Scene files

Don,
I experienced a similar "Not enough memory" problem in QTVRAS on my new G5.
I was not opening old files, just new higher resolution photos for the pano maker.

It turned out that the new memory allocation for QTVRAS did not save as I had typed it in. -I don't know why.

I had increased it several times, but it seems that the final digit did not save - or something like that. I know it sounds goofy, but somehow on my last time setting the memory requirements for QTVRAS the memory allocation saved correctly and things worked.

good luck,
Michael

Older QTVR scenes won't open.

About 2.5 years ago I spend a month drawing QTVR hotspots over structures on
both a whole and dissected a heart specimen (432 images) using QTVR studio
with the sole 1.0.1 update. This is for an update to a program we did in the
late 90's called "The Virtual Heart".

We have since scraped together enough funding to finish that program but the
scene files will not open!

I'm using Panther, which is running QTVR Studio (w/1.0.1 update) in classic.
I allocated more memory (hundreds of megabytes of RAM) to the QTVR Studio
program (my machine has a gig) and I still get the message:

A problem occurred while trying to do that.
There was not enough memory.
Close some windows ort allocate more memory to QuickTime VR Studio from the
finder and try again.

When I first tried to open the files the Mac didn't know what to open them
with since their file types were gone ("????"). This was also true of the
files with the .obj suffix.

I used FileBuddy and changed the files to "Creator: leah Type: proj" but I
still get the memory error.

I tried booting the machine in OS9 and got the same result.

Has anyone encountered this problem of older files not opening?

Thanks in advance for a reply.
