Re: Nikon D70 with Fisheye 10,5 mm DX workflow

Title: Re: Nikon D70 with Fisheye 10,5 mm DX workflow

I shoot with D70 and 10.5mm lens.  Below is my work flow:

copy images to hard drive.
rename images to something revelent  (i.e., ChapelFront, GreenRoom, etc.).  Since I have several projects going on at the same time I have found that renaming the files is a big help.  Personally, I use Renamer4Mac.  You can find it at: http://www.power4mac.com/

Select images to be used and move to new folder.  Start with the minimum number of images needed.  I've been burned several times by doing too much work in Photoshop at the beginning then not having the images stitch in Stitcher.

Batch process images using Nikon Capture (NC) performing fisheye distortion correction and rotate.  Images should have been shot at a similar white balance like sunlight (my favorite) or tungsten - don't use 'automatic.'  Save images in tiff format so a layer mask can be added later.

Process the images in Stitcher to make sure vr looks okay.  If more images are needed, like windows or other bright areas, then process those images in NC.  Combine light/dark images in Photoshop and create layer mask with original image on top.

Process images again in Stitcher.
If the work looks great then render out cubical faces in Stitcher, fix nadir and add logo.  Then render spherical image in Stitcher and do final touch ups, check color balance. Render final vr from spherical image.  Post on web.
