I apologize for this simple question, but I'm running out of time.
I'll be going to Africa in about two and a half weeks and I'd really
like to try my hand at panoramic photography if I can get up to speed
on the subject. The research I've done has shown me the huge potential
this has (wonderful panoramas, wow!) but I'm finding that this is a
topic where information and equipment age rapidly.
First, I've gone to Fry's and the only software I've found is a copy
of Quicktime VR Studio. It sells for about $400, but it looks ancient.
(Classic only app. Apple multi-striped logo). Is this really still a
useful app or does this store simply not know what it's selling. Are
there still Mac tools around or has the cutting edge of this switched
over to other platforms?
Second, any pointers to websites on equipment and newbie advice would
be very helpful for someone who's become absolutely amazed at the
overwhelming potential of this photographic technique.
