Re: Nikon FC-E9

Neil,

Thanks for the info and samples. I am a bit concerned about this lens' image quality and clarity. I have my own Raynox FE180Pro with a Sony F717 and love it, but I need a less expensive (and hopefully less bulky) solution for my department.

What do you think are the largest dimensions you could make a QTVR using the FC-E9? Most samples I've seen were fairly small. I'd like to be able to display at 800x600 at least. Think that would be feasible with a Nikon 8700 (8 megapixels) and FC-E9?

cheers,
Scott

I have used this lens since 1999. Was purchase to use with ipix. I used it on full-frame mode and took 6 shots, then used the old photovista software to make a cubic pano.

Have example at: http://homepage.mac.com/nbarham/re400gamma.mov

This was done with a 990 nikon, lens should work fine for the newer 5 and 8 meg cameras from nikon and the newer softwares which work with these cameras and the fisheye.

Solution won't be as good as using a canon or nikon DSLR and a high-end fisheye lens, but works fine for quick easy projects for those not willing to pay for perfection.
